How to take a picture of smoke

Hi! Today I'm gonna teach you easiest way to shoot some photograph of smoke within low budget (If you already have equipment , lol)



Example :

All you need is
1. Camera (+ Lens)
- Any camera such as Mirrorless,DSLR or other would be fine just make sure it can control an external flash and manual controll.
2. External Flash
- It's  important that your flash can be wirelessly controlled. any method is OK to use , Otherwise you have way to move it to another location but you can still control it.
- And a sheet of something to controll/block the light
3. Incense or any source of smoke
4. Black Screen or Other color
- Any kind of screen is usable (I'm using cheap black paper). I reccomanded black color
5. Darkroom
- Better that you have ventation in your room. Room must be very dark
6. etc..... for setup your workplace

Let's start! Now setup your rig and tool as you seen in picture

- I choose bathroom to did this. Because this room is easiest to manage the light for me and other room is air conditioned, Smoke may kill my air conditioner, :P . It's better to take picture a whole thing and then do a process by program on your PC

- Then use a sheet of paper (Or upto you) mount on flash like this. This will prevent light from flash goes to background paper. If you don't block the light from flash it will make background brightly and you won't get a clear shot

- Now set your Camera and Flash into manual mode , Use high shutter speed (About 1/80-1/200) with low ISO , Lowest F/Aperture. For flash isn't fixed ( And Camera setting isn't fixed too!) I use 1/100,ISO100,F4 for camera and  Exposer -2,105mm for Ext.Flash. Again any setting isn't fixed, It depend on your room and how are you set it up. Now light the incense and take a shot find the best setting then enjoy :D

*** Tips : You may use any tool and method to change a shape of smoke. ***

- After you finish clear out incense by exstinguish it (Safety first) then do image process by your PC .... and.. DONE!

Always BUSY!

College life has start over a years ago. Do a lot of work. Well bad news is mine short film has cancelled due to I don't have much free time to did that. Free time? No! Never heard of that after semester started. Nah... just kidding , I have but spend it on take a rest and prepare to get kill by exam. I mean there will no more short film for many years. For this dA for in this time is just only for upload photography. Took some photo is use a little time to do, Just step outta my room and walk outside with my camera , get some inspirasion and BOO! Taking a shot! Good is photography won't use too much time but the bad is bangkok doesn't have many good place to take some good picture.

Feeling tired everyday wanna  go somewhere cover by nature and have some rest.

Making an Short Action Movie

Here's my(Our) first action movie. I done with my two brother. One is older and one is younger (Older is real brother and younger isn't) I mean in this short  movie has only three actor, Two is studio owner and one was invited.



Studio Name [EN] : SOMJEED STUDiO
Studio Name [TH] : ส้มจี้ด สตูดิโอ

My older bother is Director,Computer Graphic,Effect,Acting. I do Filming,Rendering Technicial,Acting And younger brother only Acting. This short film was filmed last year with mobile phone, NOKIA N8, That time we don't had any camera DSLR,Camcorder,Compact...No we didn't have anything like that only a phone camera. And tool we use is only mobile tripod..

Prepare to go to college

Now I'm pass the test. I got "Telecomunication and Electronic Engineering (International)" so.... don't stop here.. I need to cut a path to be ready with college life, I got an Engineering.. So hard for me is math, I'm bad in math (But pass the Direct University Test!? Maybe something wrong?) in summer i get studying some math like Calculus, I must study to avoid get "F" and "Retry".
   But it not impact all my day, I study from 8:00 to 12:00 then free! That's bettery than no freetime and got a lot of stress.
